Voice Lessons
Breathing Techniques
‘Ahh, ahh, ahh’ is the true sound emanating from the throat. The ability to create this natural ‘ahh’ begins with breath. Michael teaches the theory and techniques necessary to develop the controlled use of breath: the use of the diaphragm, and the muscles of the stomach and lower back.
The Sacred Self: Sacred Self Union
Vocal Exercises
The primary sound that emanates from air pushed over the vocal chords is ‘ahh’. Various exercises are presented to the student to meet his or her particular needs to reshape this ‘ahh’ into the multiplicity of sounds that a person is able to create. These include exercises for breath control, pitch control, pronunciation and presence.
Sight Singing
Sight singing focuses the techniques of breath control and vocal exercises with the intellectual discipline of reading music and vocalizing ‘at sight’. Michael teaches fixed ‘Do’ and movable ‘Do’ Solfege studies.
